While in New York City with my students a few weeks ago, I was a witness to the Tyler Oakley phenomenon! We were on Times Square when all the commotion began. The ground beneath Times Square began to rumble as a mass of young screaming girls came running by. They were chasing non-other than Tyler Oakley. Who is Tyler Oakley you may ask? He's an openly gay (very open!) internet celebrity - that's all!
Oakley began teasing the crowd by leading the mob through Times Square till he reached his ride, a big black SUV. The car dangerously peeled off with a loud screeching of its tires as his group of fans barely got out of the way in time. But that wasn't the end of it because only minutes later, Oakley was once again jogging through another end of Times Square leading yet another, new mob of dazzled fans.
I had to find out more about this character so I looked up his YouTube channel. The only video that I was able to endure till the end is a profile of himself. This video is featured on my website at www.eslquebec.com, under the PRACTICE tab, on the video comprehension page 3.
See and judge for yourself if this guy really deserves all this attention.
